Job Title: Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Development Engineer
Status: Exempt, Full-Time

Employee will be an integral part of a solid oxide fuel cell development team. Work will include materials preparation, development of new materials sets, products, and other assignments from supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to an active R&D program working to develop novel materials and advanced architectures for solid oxide fuel cells
  • Establishes standard operating procedures for fabrication of solid oxide fuel cells in a production environment
  • Develops and implements process improvements to reduce variability
  • Experience with ceramic materials
  • Completes all required paperwork; prepares required reports and correspondence
  • Experience in ceramic ink formulations or application
  • Familiar with pre- and post- characterization techniques: rheology, particle size analysis, SEM, electrochemical testing, etc.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area
  • Complies with laboratory, federal, state, health, safety, fire, and environmental policies


  • Master or PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum one year experience or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel
  • Must be friendly, courteous, and flexible to work with a variety of staff
  • Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; able to manage multiple projects
